Event locations

While sports took place on the slopes on Corviglia, the party was happening in the Fan Village and in town. The most important event locations for the fans were at the Kulm Park and around the pedestrian zone.

Kulm Park

The ceremony square lies within the historical  Winter Olympic Grounds. Here the figure skating competitions on the occasions of the 1928 and 1948 Winter Olympics were held. The 110 year old Olympic Pavillion at the Kulm Park was completely restored and can be used for celebrations after the World Ski Championships as well. The ceremonies and events at Kulm Park were attended by 51,800 people.

Calanda Plaza @ Kulm Park
The huge party tent could be found directly at the Kulm Park and offered the best view from the terrace onto the gigantic Edy, the medal ceremonies and the bib draws. The entrance was free and DJ’s provided the sound from 4pm to 11pm. On the terrace, a grill kept hunger at bay, serving Engadiner cheese sausage and Bratwurst. Beer, cocktails and mulled wine were also served for take away in front of the tent. Inside one could find traditional dishes such as barley soup and cheese. Furthermore, there was a kind of culinary secret weapon by the name of “Free Fall Hot Dog‘‘.
