Take off!

Take to the air in a helicopter and experience the Engadine mountain scenery, Piz Bernina and the frozen lakescape of the Upper Engadine from a bird's eye view. And to top it all, you will fly over the race courses and the start to the men's downhill "Free Fall". www.swisshelicopter.ch / www.helibernina.ch

Get on your skis – even at night

In February all Engadin St. Moritz destination ski runs were open. There is an extensive network of runs on Corviglia as well despite the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. In addition, the sunny slopes of Diavolezza and Corvatsch also beckon. Do not miss two absolute highlights: the first is the Hahnensee run from Corvatsch to St. Moritz, the second the Corvatsch Snow Night on the longest floodlit run in Switzerland on Friday nights. www.engadin.stmoritz.ch/berge

nr. 3
Dine on Muottas Muragl

A true classic. Muottas Muragl offers the most breathtaking view of the Upper Engadine Lake Plateau. The venerable funicular railway will take you up there. In the panorama restaurant high above the valley the kitchen and serving crews will delight you with their fine regional specialities. www.muottasmuragl.ch

nr. 4
Wind down at the OVAVERVA day spa

After a day’s skiing some relaxation is called for. We recommend the outdoor pool with jacuzzi beds at the OVAVERVA day spa in St. Moritz Bad. www.ovaverva.ch

nr. 5
Take different views on the Bernina mountain chain

The project "Alpha bis Omega" of Valentin Roschacher shows 6 different painting of the Bernina mountain chain. For the first time, between February 4 and 25 the masterpieces were open to public in the Hotel Kulm. www.roschacher.com

nr. 6
Go shopping

Zurich has its Bahnhofstrasse and Los Angeles its Rodeo Drive: the Via Serlas in St.Moritz is every bit as prestigious, just on a much smaller scale. From Chanel to Gucci to Louis Vuitton - all the big names of international fashion are represented here. And more it-labels can be found in the village centre.  www.stmoritz.ch/shopping

nr. 7
Try your luck at the Casino St. Moritz

American Roulette, Black Jack, Ultimate Texas Hold'em Poker, slot machines. You can feel like James Bond when you get out those cards at the St. Moritz Casino. www.casinostmoritz.ch

nr. 8
Skate at the former Olympia Stadion

You want to visit the historic ice pavilion in Kulm Park outside the hours when live acts and medal ceremonies take place? Put on your skates and combine your visit with some great moments on the ice. Directly adjacent to Kulm Park, in the former Olympia Stadium,  you can carve your most elegant figures into the ice. The Kulm natural-ice rink is open to the public daily from 10:00 to 17:00. www.stmoritz-curling.ch

nr. 9
Visit a Museum (at night)

For a complete change to high performance sport on the slopes, a little art and culture. Visit one of the many St. Moritz museums and be inspired by art from the Engadine. A very special opportunity was the Museum Night on Thursday, 16.2.2017, from 18:00 to 22:00 (participating museums: Segantini Museum, Engadiner Museum, Dokumentationsbibliothek (= archives) St. Moritz, Berry Museum and Forum Paracelsus). Check out the Leaning Tower and the Chesa Futura

These are two of the most interesting St. Moritz sights. The Chesa Futura, a building resembling a UFO by British architect Lord Norman Foster, displays 250,000 shingles made from larch wood. www.stmoritz.ch/sightseeing

Sing along in the “Stübli”

The “Stübli” Bar at the Hotel Schweizerhof in St. Moritz is a legend. Small, smoky, loud. And always full. Nowhere else in the Engadine will you encounter the same wild party atmosphere that live guitarists create. Sing along! www.schweizerhofstmoritz.ch

nr. 13

The men’s downhill start at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships is famed for its steep gradiant: the “free fall”.  But this is just peanuts compared with what you can experience daily with Engadinsky: parachuting with a tandem instructor. Go up in the air at the Engadin Airport in Samedan, land on the frozen lake of St. Moritz. www.engadinsky.ch

nr. 14
Take a stroll on the frozen lake of St. Moritz

The lake of St. Moritz becomes a huge sports arena in winter for horse races, polo matches and cricket tournaments. Above the 44 meters of water a layer of ice builds up which,  when it is over 30 centimeters thick, is solid enough to support even heavy loads. Stroll across the lake and see St. Moritz from a completely new angle. Before the ice melts and the lake belongs again to the sailing boats. Beware: make sure you inquire about the state of the lake ice at St. Moritz Tourist Information.

nr. 15
